Philip Yancey
Philip Yancey is a new addition to Our Daily Bread, but is already familiar to many readers. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Philip Yancey has penned many books. His writings never dodge the tough questions. His award-winning titles include Disappointment With God, The Jesus I Never Knew, Where Is God When It Hurts? and What's So Amazing About Grace? He shuns superficial responses to life's difficulties and goes after the heart of what it means to be forgiven and complete in Jesus Christ.
In 1971, Philip joined the staff of Campus Life Magazine, where he worked as editor and then publisher for 8 years. In 1978, he became a full-time writer, working as a journalist for such publications as Reader's Digest, Publisher's Weekly, National Wildlife, The Reformed Journal, and Christian Century. He still writes for Christianity Today, a publication he also serves as editor at large.
After living in Chicago for many years, the Yanceys moved to Colorado, where they enjoy hiking, wildlife, and all the other delights of the Rocky Mountains.
