The College World Series is the final event of the 2008-09 college sports season. It’s now underway in Omaha, Nebraska.

In recent years the CWS has grown in popularity and attendance. It has also grown as a television property with each game of the Series televised. The increased television exposure has helped the College World Series become another traditional sports event on the national landscape.

But, growth is not always good. On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with long time college coach, Andy Lopez. Andy is now the head coach at the University of Arizona.

In 1992, he coached Pepperdine to the NCAA title. He also coached Florida to two appearances in the World Series and into five NCAA tournaments. 

Andy is more than a college baseball coach. He has learned from his Mexican immigrant father the value of leading others to Christ. Listen to an encouraging, emotional and honest visit with Andy Lopez on this edition of Sports Spectrum Today.
